Business Goal

Gus's Market, a well-liked supermarket, is keen on developing an application through which customers can place orders from the deli and cafe sections. The client desires an app that is user-friendly across all age groups.

Additionally, they require a separate web-based platform for their staff to manage these orders efficiently.

Gus's Market, a well-liked supermarket, is keen on developing an application through which customers can place orders from the deli and cafe sections. The client desires an app that is user-friendly across all age groups.

Additionally, they require a separate web-based platform for their staff to manage these orders efficiently.

The Solution

Creating a user-friendly online food ordering and delivery app that users are familiar with.

User Journey

User creates an account using their own information. Users also have the option to sign in as a guest.

The home page will display available items for sale as well as a search option.

User can add or customize items before adding them to the shopping cart.

Checking out will allow users to select if items are for pickup or delivery. If items are for pickup, user can select the best market option for them.

User places order and receives a confirmation email and number.

Gus's worker gets the request and validates it. Staff can notify users in case of an issue, or when the order is ready.

Mobile Wireframes

At the beginning of my design process I created wireframes for all the app screens. This helped me to maintain MVP in mind and stay focused in what the client wanted to achieve.

I created low-to-mid fidelity wireframes for this project.
Figma was the software used.
Several iterations were made to land on the user experience our client was looking for.

UI Design

Gus's already had a brand, which made the process easier.

Client wanted something that felt somewhat familiar.
A clean and easy to use interface was requested as well.
Accessible design with big buttons and easy navigation especially for users fulfilling orders on the go.
