The Problem
The key issue our client faces is the disruption of contact with his fleet drivers — presently, he operates a wholesale business of paint blending gadgets, 'E-Z mix'. This communication breakdown commences upon the drivers' arrival at their end locations when no team members are on hand to receive them.
The Problem
The key issue our client faces is the disruption of contact with his fleet drivers — presently, he operates a wholesale business of paint blending gadgets, 'E-Z mix'. This communication breakdown commences upon the drivers' arrival at their end locations when no team members are on hand to receive them.
The Solution
An intuitive application enabling drivers to indicate their estimated arrival time for dock workers. This will facilitate the readiness of a dock slot for the drivers upon their junction. Upon the driver's arrival, dock personnel will direct them to the specific dock suitable for their cargo collection or delivery.
The Challenge
Ensuring the app is user-friendly for drivers, enabling destination notification with just a button click (Please don't drive and text!). Also, we want the drivers to communicate in case of unforeseen issues, such as vehicle breakdown, meal breaks, or when the driver is en route for delivery or pickup, and so on.
Mobile Wireframes
During the early design process, I was able to create wireframes for the main flows of this app. This stage also helped me to think about what we discussed with the clients during the discovery process. I communicated constantly with the client to make sure I didn't miss any key points when creating on the upcoming user flows.
I created mid-to-high fidelity wireframes for this project. (these type of wireframes help our clients to have a better picture of where some of the components will be placed by the time we work on the interface).
Figma was the software used.
I created a prototype that would help us to start testing the main flows.
We gave the prototype to a couple of users to gather some data.
Mobile Designs
Our clients sought a user friendly that was both inviting and modern.
We aimed for an interface accessible to users of all ages.
The primary tones in the chosen color palettes were predominantly blue, ensuring a friendly interface suitable for users of all age groups.
To define the app's illustration style, we provided a mood board.
In addition to the driver's app, I designed a web application that facilitates communication between dock staff and drivers. Also, I created a b2b web application that allows HaulPass admin to invite other enterprises.
